Plain-Language Summary
Tactical Resiliency USA collects your contact and background information (name, email, address, job role) and any health-related survey responses you provide so that we can contact you, administer training and research programs, and improve our services. We also collect technical data (via cookies and analytics) to understand how the site is used. We will only collect information you provide or that is necessary for providing services. All information is stored securely and only shared with trusted partners who help us (like Google Analytics for site stats, Mailchimp for newsletters, or payment processors). We do not share your data for unrelated marketing or sell it. You have choices: you can opt out of marketing emails, disable cookies in your browser, and ask us to delete your data anytime. We explain all of this below in detail.

- Sensitive Data: Responses to trauma/resiliency questionnaires (e.g. PCL-5, PHQ-9 scores) entered on volunteer or client forms.
- Usage Data: IP address, browser/OS, device type, pages viewed, time stamps (collected via Google Analytics and server logs).
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies to manage site sessions and analytics (e.g. Google Analytics cookies like _ga, _gid), as detailed in our Cookie Notice.
- Payment Information: If you make payments for training via Stripe or PayPal, only transaction details and necessary billing info are shared with that payment provider; TRUSA does not store full payment card data.
- Legal Basis: (For U.S. law, we rely on your consent and our legitimate interest.) We use your data to perform our services for you and to comply with legal obligations. When you voluntarily provide data (e.g., signing up for research, contacting us), that is your consent. For cookies/analytics, we use legitimate interest (improving the site).
- How We Use Your Data:
- Service Delivery: To schedule and provide training services or research participation, we use your contact info and any health data you share.
- Research and Improvement: Aggregate, de-identified data may be analyzed to improve our trauma protocols. We will not use your data in a way that individually identifies you without explicit permission.
- Communication: We may use your email/phone to send confirmations, updates, or follow-ups about services or research.
- Marketing: We may send newsletters or promotional materials only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- Compliance: We may use data to comply with law (e.g. respond to subpoenas) and for fraud prevention.
- Data Sharing: We share your personal data only with the following:
Service Providers: Third parties who perform functions on our behalf, such as Google (Analytics), Mailchimp (email), Zoom (virtual sessions), and payment processors (Stripe/PayPal). These providers only get the data needed for their service and must protect it.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law (court orders, subpoenas).
Consent: If you have given explicit permission for a specific sharing (e.g. referral to another agency), we will comply accordingly. - Data Retention: We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or to satisfy legal record-keeping (e.g. financial records for 7 years). Research data may be kept in de-identified form indefinitely for study validation, but any publication will not contain personal identifiers.
- Security: We implement reasonable safeguards: encrypted transmission (HTTPS), secure databases, access controls, and employee training. We follow FTC/OCR guidance on reasonable security measures to protect health information. In case of a breach of unsecured data (e.g. discovery of personal health info in violation), we will notify affected individuals per applicable law (FTC Health Breach Notification Rule).
- Your Rights: You may access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us (see below). You may opt out of marketing communications or disable cookies via your browser (see Cookie Notice). If you are a California or Florida resident, you have additional privacy rights under state law (subject to certain exemptions).
- International Users: If you visit us from outside the U.S., data may be transferred to servers in the U.S. Use of the site implies consent to these transfers. Users are responsible for compliance with local laws.
- Children: Our services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn we have data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.
